Project Description
Through a rigorous RFP process, Kamehameha Schools selected Allied Builders as their design-assist shell contractor for this exciting 3-acre redevelopment project, a 50,000sf retail center and gathering place. Faced with challenges such as soil remediation from existing fuel storage, driveway access constraints by HDOT, HECO service upgrade, and others, Allied Builders worked closely with project stakeholders to achieve desired results. Careful planning, constant communication, and diligent oversight were also crucial to maintaining both project progress and good neighbor relations. Awarded under separate contracts, Allied Builders completed the fit-outs for anchor tenant Foodland, their new grocery concept, “Kahala Mkt. by Foodland” and a combined urgent care facility and patient clinic for major tenant Hawaii Pacific Health/Straub.
